In the beautiful Soller valley and surrounded by olive grove, this large and very impressive old stone farmhouse with its 50 acres, situated two kilometers from both the Port of Soller and the town itself. Dating from the 17th century as an olive oil producing farm, Son Salas has been the home of Axel and Kristen Ball and their large family for the last twenty-five years, where they worked to create the hotel La Residencia, and other projects in the Balearics. The house itself is built around a wonderful interior cobblestone courtyard with palm trees, platanos and kentias and a dining area for summer evenings. The open plan kitchen has a traditional fireplace corner for the autumn and leads out to terraces and a lovely large swimming pool with tooled stone border of 16 x 6 m surrounded by lawn with carob and olive trees. Above the pool, another very complete outdoor kitchen has been created with stunning views over the pool and a large barbecue area with industrial dishwasher and telephone extension. Within the holiday house, there is a bright double living room area leading to more terraces and a very dramatic dining room has been created from the old olive press (tafona).
Son Salsa has many spacious bedrooms, all with poster beds and with their own bathrooms and can accommodate many people comfortably. There is a very lovely master suite with large bedroom (and communicating room if necessary), library and complete marble bathroom leading out to the garden. The vacation domicile itself is filled with lovely Spanish antiques and paintings of local artists. There is now a complete cinema in the house with automatic full wall sized screen and 300 DVDs. The house is equipped with digital satellite television and DVD players in six different areas, and an open ASDL line with a house computer, printer, and fax. There is also a pool table. The property has an excellent tennis court a short walk through the olive grove with spectacular views over the valley and town of Soller. For sea swimming, the guests may enjoy the privilege of using the access of Lluc Alcari, where the clients of La Residencia swim, approximately ten minutes away. The gardener will provide the guests with their passes. The town of Soller offers many bars for fresh orange juice and morning coffee as well as a market square, post office, newsagent, and many small shops. There is a lively open-air market on Saturday. Also, there is the Port of Soller for boats and restaurants and the picturesque Cala of Deya with its two fisherman restaurants.

Majorca with it's diversity and great number of cultural sights is one of the most interesting islands of the Mediterranean. The north-west with the craggy cliff line is characterised by the beautiful, green landscape of the Tramuntana mountains, which are covered with forests and orchards. In the east, however, there is a mellow landscape with mediterranean vegetation and many small bays which are perfect for families with children. The beach "Es Trenc" in the south reminds of the sand dunes of the island of Sylt. There is a vast choice of sports activities all year round: trekking, mountainbiking, golf, sailing, paragliding and much more. The capital of the island, Palma de Mallorca, is known for it's impressive cathedral. The narrow streets offer a number of shops and galleries. Majorca's nighlife is mainly limited to the adjacencies of Palma.
