The recently built Villa Barla lies right above the sea, not far from the little fishing village Marathopolis. The owner, a passionate yachtsman, fulfilled his lifelong dream when he built this house. From every part of the holiday home, the views will give you the impression of being out at sea. The beautiful garden, established in 1997, surrounds the house with palm trees, fig trees, grapevines and innumerable colourful flowers. From the large terrace in front of the house one has spectacular views over the sea and of the islands offshore.

Watching the sunset from here and the special light of the Peloponnese, with its fascinating display of colours, is breathtaking. Above the rocks of the bathing cove, is a caringly created seating area with a sunshade, sunloungers and a freshwater shower. The perfect place to sip on a drink, relax and unwind. The furnishings of the house are tasteful and modern. All the windows in the spacious rooms are covered with fly screens. The generous use of glass gives this house a feeling of transparency. The south-western part of the Peloponnes is called Messinia. The capital and the largest port of Messinia is Kalamata, which is known in Greece for the folk dance "Kalamatianos" and the famous silk shawls. There is an airport which is served by several charter airlines. Messinia, the "fruitful land of Euripides", is rich in water. Everywhere, there are sources watering grasslands, feedlots and green hills. The spring is full of flowers, the summers are long but not too hot. The coast consits of beautiful, long beaches and small villages located directly at the sea. The region is perfect for sunbathers and beach lovers. But also important sights like the castle of Kalamata and the antique town of Olympia can be reached easily from here.
