This "home away from home" is a gem amongst the self catering holiday rentals in Italy. This due to it´s architectural style of a trullo -the name for the old Puglian farmer houses with prominent conical roofs- and it´s enchanting combination of medieval and design elements. Based in Puglia, far away from mass tourism, the trullo is located in a fully fenced in 40,000 sqm property, offering complete privacy between the Ionian Sea and the Adriatic Sea. The structure constists of two medieval buildings, which are connected by a modern centerpiece.

While renovating the structure, which had lain abandoned for 70 years, the Danish owners honoured the building's humble origins by hiding their 21st-century plumbing and wiring within the three-metre-thick walls and sculpting the extension and terrace around existing trees. Furthermore, they attentively selected both modern and antique pieces of furniture to complement rather than clash with the ancient structure.The lime stone construction is accompanied optimal by the carefully selected and very tasteful interior of the villa. The open fire place and the floor heating do also guarantee a comfortable stay during cooler seasons. In the summer one can enjoy the shade under the several centuries old olive tree or refresh in the spacious pool, fitted with the latest in modern pool equippment, i.e. chlorine free water. Wide, sandy beaches are only 25 kilometers away. The kitchen with its large dining table offers access to the terrace. Also located on the groundfloor, there is a living room with a fire place, a hall, 3 of the bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Another bedroom with a shower bath/WC is situated on the first floor. Three of the bedrooms possess 2 double beds, which makes the room capable for four persons to sleep in. Puglia is the region of the white houses and hospitality. In a typical restaurant that is only two kilometers away one can enjoy delicious, traditional Puglian meals with lots of fish and sea food. On request, a maid or a chef can be booked for extra charge.
