This recently built house is located in the village Engares. Naxos town is reachable in about 15 minutes by car. Spiti Engares is furnished tastefully in cool design and is perfect for relaxing. The terrace and the pool area offer wunderful views of the garden and the wide, wild landscape of the island. The sauna is located in a seperate building close to the pool. Large doors lead from the dining room to the furnished terrace. The single bedroom offers space to place an additional bed for a child, if required.

At the natural sandy beach of Amitis there is one small tavern, which is open in high season. The area around Engares is perfect for hiking. There are shady hiking trails under plane trees, which lead to a river. In the villages of Engares and Gallini there are typical taverns with traditional Greek food. In Engares there are hardly shopping facilitites. It is better to go shopping in the vivid city of Naxos. A rental car is essential. The friendly owners live in a separate part of the house. It is a German couple in their late 50ties and they have a watch dog. They are at the tenants disposal to give information about tours, beaches and other activities.

With an area of 400 sq. km. and mountains ranging up to 1000 m. in height, Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades Islands. Apart from a balanced climate, it offers guests over 30 km of glorious, peaceful beaches, many with golden sand and a sparkling turquoise sea, set before a mainly green hinterland. There are also many delightful excursions.

Getting there: Charter/schedule flights to Athens and a connecting flight to Naxos; Charter flight to Santorin or Mykonos, high-speed boat or ferry.
