The islands St. John, St. Thomas and St. Croix form the US Virgin Islands. The English-speaking archipelago of the Lesser Antilles is rocky and hilly. On St. John two thirds of the island belong to a nature reserve, where one can book various guided tours that are offered for tourists. The underwater world of St. John is fascinating with its secured reefs, the great diversity of species and the paradisiacal colours.
St. Croix is the biggest island of the US Virgin Islands. Danish influences dominate the picture of the island with its pastel-coloured fronts and the buildings that are constructed in the architectural style of the North Sea. As well as on the nearby islands, flora and fauna are stunning and unique on St. Croix. A hike though the rainforest or a walk through the botanic garden are recommended and worthwhile. The US Virgin Islands also acculturated rum; therefore a visit at the own rum distillery is an interesting alternative to a laid-back day at the beach. Besides numerous hotels, many luxurious villas are situated on the islands that will turn your holiday into a special and unique stay. The US Virgin Islands have airports on St. Thomas and St. Croix. The journey is usually made via Miami or New York. One can reach the adjoining islands with a ferry, which is a fast and comfortable means of transport.
