Majorca with it's diversity and great number of cultural sights is one of the most interesting islands of the Mediterranean. The northwest with the craggy cliff line is characterised by the beautiful, green landscape of the Tramuntana mountains, which are covered with forests and orchards. In the east, however, there is a mellow landscape with mediterranean vegetation and many small bays which are perfect for families with children. The beach "Es Trenc" in the south reminds of the sand dunes of the island of Sylt.
