Latium is a region in the middle of Italy that borders on Tuscany in the north and on Campania in the south. Located at the Tyrrhenian Sea, Latium offers long, scenic beaches that are mostly lined with stone pine woods. Seaside vacationers do not only enjoy the ocean, but also the lakes of the inland, like Lake Bolseana and Lake Albaner. Amongst a fantastic landscape these lakes are very inviting and offer a resort for recovery. The small islands in the south of the region provide a paradise for diving and snorkelling, where one can explore the multifaceted and dazzling underwater world. The Mediterranean climate, the even, maybe a bit hilly landscape and the limestone Alps treat visitors to a walk or a hike in the beautiful Mediterranean nature. A visit to the craterlake in Campagnia Romana, to the cloister Monte Cassino and to one of the archaeological excavations are recommendable.
